I made some BlogDay buttons for you to put on your blog and promote the event. all you need to do is to copy and paste the HTML code to your blog. Click Here to get a button for your blog.
From my last check I noticed that dozens of bloggers from around the globe (Italy, France, Israel, US, Japan, Pakistan!) wrote about BlogDay and I hope that these numbers will increased dramatically very soon! We have only 2 months to make the world know an celebrate Blog Day 2005.
In the last few days (Nights) I set up a wiki space for the project. so far I'm the only contributor. I placed all the info I gathered and set some action items so feel more then free to add some content to the future BlogDay web site and help me get technical and design resources so we all have a GR8 place to celebrate.
I also contacted Scott Heiferman, the CEO of meetup.com. I asked him to open some kind of a meta category for BlogDay so everyone who wants, will be able to set up a BlogDay meeting in that date. I didn't got an answer yet.
I know that this project is good and right but I'm afraid that people will discover it too late and the effect of Blogday will not be as I imagined it. If you have any ideas how to make more people to know about this project and take action, tell me.
The wiki awaits. See ya.
Have you ever noticed that the date 3108 (August 31st) looks like the word “Blog”? I have noticed it when I was in the first Blog conference that was held in Israel and I doodled it on a paper. On that day I started to roll an idea that I hope would become a global tradition:
I know, it looks like I am some kind of megalomaniac, but the truth is that I’m coming from a very humble point of view: I believe that we bloggers have to have one day in the year which will be dedicated to know other bloggers, from other countries or areas of interests. I think, that not only that we need to know other bloggers; we need also to recommend about them to our Blog visitors.
When I’m trying to see the end in mind, in this is day every blogger will post a recommendation of 5 new blogs (in the same time). In this day all Blog web surfers will find themselves leaping and discovering new, unknown blogs.
Isn’t it a celebration?
I am suggesting this kind of activity because in the last months I felt that the more blogs there are, the less time I’m spending on new web logs. Because of the overload of information, I’m just visiting my favorite Blog and therefore, I’m sure that I miss a lot of good blogs.
I’m sure that some of you ask, “Isn’t your suggestion looks, feels and smells like a Blog Roll I already have on my Blog?” Well, Whoever thought like that missed the whole point: The purpose is to get you bloggers to discover new people, visit their blogs and tell the world about this person and his Blog.
In this post I laid the ground for starting this kind of an event. I hope to hear comments from you bloggers and ways to make this day even better. As of leading this operation, I hope that someone will pick the glove and join me. I can immediately start to interest other Blog services in Israel and, I can guaranty that more than 30,000 bloggers form our Blog service (blog.Tapuz.co.il) will get the exposure to the project.
How can I help?

I am taking the MEI (Management, Entrepreneurship and innovation) program of Swinburne University – (In ISEMI, Israel). This is my third and last semester and the moment that I have waited and waited…and waited has arrived: Creativity and innovation course. The lecturers are Bill Jarrard and Jennifer Goddard from Mindwerx and the truth is that I don’t want to leave the class when the day ends.
So far I got exposed to the “Six thinking hats” method and to “Mind Mapping” techniques. These methods “blew my mind” from the moment I got the hang of them, especially the “Mind Mapping” stuff – I immediately started using it as if I was using it for years. This method can be used for more clear thinking, remembering, arranging projects lectures, meetings and more….
This is a mind map I made yesterday night when I got back from the class. I needed to get ready for a TV interview about our BlogTV service and I wanted to be ready for it, to be sharp and not too philosophical.
I made this mind map in 5 minutes and used small drawings and colors that will help me visualize the issues that I want to talk about in the interview.
The interview was perfect! I was sharp and remembered every issue that was important for me to mention. Mind mapping is working for me big time! (I drew 3 more today so I will be ready for some meeting I have tomorrow)
